Instagram is planning to remove its photo map feature and has now started to slowly phase out this aspect of the app. The feature essentially allowed you to see geotagged photos posted by you or others , on the map.All the photos in one particular area were grouped together and when zoomed in the exact area was shown for every picture taken.
You can still see geotagged photos posted by your own account but cannot view photos on the map posted by other users. According to Instagram , not enough people were using this feature so they just decided to drop it all together. If you were not aware that this feature existed in the app then you are just proving Instagram's point.
If you click on the locations mentioned on a post then you would still be able to see all the photos taken in that area but the Photo map section from the profile of a user has been removed.
